Cebu: Skywalk at the top of Regency Hotel

The first-ever Sky Walk in the Philippines is located at the Crown Regency Hotel in Cebu. It may not be considered as a place where many tourists visit, but for thrill-seekers, this sure is something worth dropping by.

The Sky Walk is in the 37th floor of the building and it circles around the whole building. You'll be able to enjoy the 360-degree view while imagining the different possible things that may happen while walking on the edges of the building. The platform was built to hold up to 5,000 pounds and in case you accidentally fall of the building, no problem! There are multiple harnesses strapped to secure each of the walkers and guides who will walk with you 'til the end. The interval time for each Sky Walk tour is around 15 minutes.

Cebu: Lighthouse Restaurant

During our first day in Cebu, breakfast was not part of the itinerary so we had to eat our packed lunch at 9:00 in the morning. When lunch time came, we had no food anymore. We weren't able to buy food also because we were on a cruise. So when dinner time came, you can just imagine how hungry we were.

We discovered Lighthouse Restaurant by accident by asking the receptionist where we could find a good nearby seafood restaurant. This is the funny part, when we asked the receptionist from our hotel where Lighthouse Restaurant was, she told us that it was just walking distance. So we walked for a few minutes from the hotel and then there was no sign of Lighthouse anywhere. It was a good thing that we decided to ask for directions from people we passed along the way. Turns out that Lighthouse was not walking distance away, it was a taxi distance away!

I guess 3-4km is still considered as walking distance for Cebuanos.

Sexy Burger

Though Carl's Jr. burger didn't last here in the Philippines, the burger in this commercial looks so good that it's hard to imagine why Carl's Jr. didn't make it here. Oh and Top Chef Padma Lakshmi, isn't bad looking too.

Boracay: Lemoni Series of Fortunate Food

Pardon the title, I couldn't resist. :)

Recommended by two of our good friends, Lemoni Cafe in Boracay is a real titleholder. Heralded by the Philippine Tattler as one of the Top 10 Restaurants in the Philippines for several years, Lemoni is a definite must-try for those who find themselves in Boracay.

The cafe's sunny yellow and green interiors is perfect for its beach location and once you're seated, prepare for some really good Mediterranean food.

Birds of paradise as table top decoration. Nice!

Boracay: Fish Bar

If you're a fan of Fish & Co. here in Manila, you'll like FishBar in Boracay.

Located at D'Mall which is a mecca for different bars and restos, most of which can only be found in Boracay, FishBar attracts vacationers with its cool blue, white and green interiors. Oh, and the food's pretty tasty too.

Light and beach-y ambiance

Itinerary: Cebu-Bohol

Our recent 3 days 2 night trip to Cebu and Bohol was very tiring, though it was really fun to see places that we once just saw in TV, but now in reality.

Cebu is one of the well known provinces in the Philippines, having a lot of small islands which include Mactan, Bantayan, Malapascua, Olango, and Camotes Island.  Some of its famous destinations are Basilica Minore del Santo Nino, Fort San Pedro, Lapu Lapu Shrine, Magellan's Cross, Magellan's Shrine, and the Taoist Temple.  Cebu is also known for its Sinulog Festival and Mantawi Festival.

Bohol, an island province just located in the east of Cebu, is known for its Chocolate Hills - which as formed through numerous limestones, Panglao Island - famous as a diving location and listed as one of the top ten diving spots in the world, Philippine Tarsier - considered as the second smallest primate in the world.

*special thanks to Noneth for arranging the itinerary.

Boracay: Off-Season Perks

Ah Boracay, arguably the most famous beach destination in the Philippines. Well-known for its fine white sand and clear blue waters and of course, its party scene. There are plenty of things to do in Boracay from water sports (windsurfing, banana boat, fly fish, para sailing), shopping for souvenirs, getting a massage by the beach, eating out, partying or (my personal favorite) simply enjoying the beautiful beach scenery with a Jonah's fruit shake and chilling out to your choice of beach music.
