Starbucks Via Ready Brew

"Never be without great coffee" is the tag line for Starbucks newest offering (pause for effect) instant coffee.

For those who thought they would never see the day when Starbucks would begin going instant, well, the day's here. This is a surprising move because I have always had the impression that Starbucks prided itself in producing freshly brewed coffee. Ready Brew is marketed to be as close to a cup of freshly brewed Starbucks coffee as possible - it isn't your regular 3 in 1, it is 100% coffee, no sweeteners or creamers.

Ready Brew comes in three flavors - Italian Roast, Decaf Italian Roast and Columbia. A pack of 3 retails at P130 and a box of 12 sells for P450.

For die hard fans of Starbucks coffee, this could be the answer to their prayers - Starbucks anywhere, anytime. Personally though, I think the price is still a bit too high. I guess it just comes with the territory, since it is Starbucks after all. And with the vast number of Starbucks in Manila, I don't think there will be any difficulty in getting a cup of freshly brewed coffee from a nearby Starbucks.

What about you? What are your thoughts on this? =)

gah! it's Starbucks alright, their signature, expensive coffee.

Yeah, comes with the brand name I guess. It's what makes them be able to put up a gazillion stores worldwide.

masyado matapang for me ... sabi nung barista better daw kung may milk ... eh kung ganun na titimplahin ko pa di sana umorder na lang ako sa store nila ...

@yen - siguro kasi they're going for product na parang brewed coffee pero instant kaya ganun. pwede kaya bumili ng Real Brew tapos humingi sa kanila ng sugar and creamer pag titimplahin na sa office? hehehe.

matapang nga siya pero in fairness its good coffee if you have fresh milk and sugar to add. I dont know which is better coz I'm not a good coffee drinker.

@vince - I haven't tried UCC instant coffee, but I'm a big fan of their brewed coffee. If their instant coffee is even half as good as the brewed, I think meron na tayong winner in the instant coffee department haha. Thanks for the tip! Might write an entry on UCC coffee. =)
