Baguio: Hamada Japanese Restaurant

He juggles spatulas! He flambes! He tosses food in the air! All these and more are just part of a day's work of the masterful teppanyaki chef at Hamada Restaurant in Baguio Country Club.
Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. Teppanyaki chefs usually prepare and cook food in front of guests. It's here that cooking becomes entertainment when the chef shows off his skills - juggling utensils and/or food, flambeing beef - all the while whipping up hot off the grill delicious food.

Baguio: Lourdes Grotto and some Strawberry Taho

Family traditions - every family has one. It's one of those events that have been done so much over time that things just aren't the same without it.

One of our family traditions is to visit the Lourdes Grotto on Mirador Hill every time we're in Baguio. It's a lovely old grotto with a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes where one can light a candle and offer a quiet prayer of thanks.

Baguio: The Veranda @ BCC

Baguio during the beginning of the "ber" months is the perfect escape from the hustle of Metro Manila with its cool weather, fragrant pine trees and laid back atmosphere.

The Baguio Country Club is one of those places that has history written all over it. Besides the fact that it was established in 1905 - the old stone flooring, framed b&w pictures and wooden furnishings all come together to render that Old World feel.

LTC Pick for October: Yakimix - Once you pop, you can’t stop

We would like to acknowledge June Cruz for providing us with this Feature Blog of Yakimix. Article was provided by her and photos by Ricka Delfin.

The place was pretty quiet when we came in. We seated ourselves at the table and looked around warily. But quick nod from me and we shot out from our seats, grabbed a plate and went crazy.

And that’s only the start of the Yakimix Experience.
