Ramen Bar

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Ramen Bar from friends as well as rave reviews from other food blogs I follow. So one Sunday night, my family and I decided to try what has been hailed as one of the most authentic ramen restaurants in Manila.

Saporro Miso Ramen
Miso infused Tonkatsu ramen topped with tamago, naruto, negi, chasyu, butter and corn
Ramen Bar is located in Eastwood, but it's a bit tricky to find because it's not located in the mall but behind outside behind some of the stores on the ground floor. Ramen Bar's location didn't seem to deter customers from going there though since we were greeted by a long waiting line when we got there. Apparently, we weren't the only ones who've heard about this place.

Shio Ramen
Salt based Tonkotsu Ramen topped with overflowing slices of chasyu and tamago.
Ramen bar has a very limited menu, there are 5 kinds of ramen and some rice bowl dishes. But what it lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. The food is excellent and the service is superb. The pictured Saporro and Shio ramen were served in huge bowls filled with rich broth, the noodles had just the right texture to it and the pork was very tender. It had a nice mix of flavors too with the mix of fish sticks, seaweed and boiled egg in the ramen.

Useful information:
Naruto - Fish Sticks
Nori - Dried Seaweed
Negi - Spring Onion

Karage
Deep fried boneless chicken lightly coated with seasoned starch.

My sister ordered this and according to her it was delicious. I didn't have the heart to take a bit out of it because there wasn't much to take. This order is perfect for pica-pica, but I think it's too small for a whole meal.

Tempura Ice Cream
The batter mixed with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup makes for an interesting mix of flavors that's a perfect way to end a meal. We were also served free Tempura Ice Cream by the owner as a way of making up for the long wait. If only all restos served free dessert after waiting to be seated for a long time. =)

The interiors of Ramen Bar has a very Japanese aesthetic to it - clean, minimalistic yet homey with its light-colored wooden and maroon walls.  The place is not very big, but it's a comfortable place to stop by and enjoy a bowl of authentic Japanese ramen.

Ramen Bar's cute logo.

Overall, Ramen Bar should add variety to its menu to have more customers coming back for more. Some their items (like the Chosyu Ramen) was not available when we ordered it and this a downer given the already limited menu. However on the upside - the staff is very accommodating and the food was served quickly after we ordered.  The food is delicious and rave-worthy although a bit on the steep side as prices range from P200-P400. Quality is doesn't come cheap, folks.

@anonymous - for me, the ramen is really good but we still have to compare it to the other authentic ramen restos such as Ukokkei Ramen Ron. =)
