Tagaytay: Amorama Restuarant

We've been passing by Amoroma restaurant during our weekend trips to Tagaytay and haven't gotten the chance to drop by this restaurant because of its plain facade. But through the persistent suggestions of my aunt to try this authentic Italian restaurant in Tagaytay where in her words - the food made one feel as if they were truly in Italy, we finally ate lunch here. My comment on this restaurant? "Delicioso!"

Amoroma was setup by an Italian chef who married a Filipina and decided to put up his own restaurant in Tagaytay.  Rumor has it that the Italian has since passed away, but his wife and her family continue running the  restaurant.

The Parents looking at a very diverse selection of Italian specialties from pasta, pizza to antipasti. It took us more than 15 minutes to decide what to order because there were so many things to choose from!

Nice touch of Pinoy pride in an Italian resto.

We originally ordered 5-cheese (5-formaggi) pizza from the menu, but they ran out of stock of one kind of cheese so it ended up being 4-cheese pizza instead.

 Mmm... mozarella!

Ravioli Amoroma Al Cartoccio. Spinach ravioli in cream gongozola with vegtables in brandy sauce. This ravioli was so rich in flavor, its obvious that good ingredients were used as well as that the pasta was hand-made.

Tortelli di Carne. Stuffed pasta with meat! This was sooo heavy! Good at first, but the taste becomes a bit bland after eating a few spoonfuls.

Tortelli al formaggi. Stuffed pasta with cheese. I liked this better than the one with meat sauce, but I could be biased since I am a huge fan of cheese.

Ravioli ricotta e spinachi. One of the best raviolis that I have ever tasted, the tomato sauce was so rich and the ricotta cheese was a perfect complement to the spinach.

We needed a break from all the pizza and pasta so since my mom loves arugula leaves, we ordered Strateccetti con la raucola which is basically beef sauteed with garlic and some sauce with arugula leaves. Simple, but good.

 Fresh bread on the house.

The restaurant also serves an assortment of cheese, wine and other  Italian delicacies.

Tiramisu. I didn't get to taste this, but my sister found it so good that she just had to order another one!

Of course, what is an Italian restaurant without gelato? Amoroma has a lot of flavors to choose from. This one is mint!
Panna cotta ciocolato. Freshly made from the kitchen which was why it was so creamy. Yumm-o!

After all that dessert, it would have been nice to have capped it off with some Italian coffee, but we were all stuffed from a very satisfying meal. Maybe next time.

For those asking, budget per meal is around P300~P500. It's a bit pricey, but still oh-so-worth-it.
