Stan says: This is the best Japanese food that I have ever tasted here in the Philippines. Authentic Japanese food at its finest in Little Tokyo! Located at Pasong Tamo street in Makati City. Even on a weekday, the restaurants inside are all full of guests. There are a lot of Japanese restos when you enter the Little Tokyo main gate.
Japanese food in the Philippines never tasted this good, until Little Tokyo appeared. Everything we ordered was no doubt very delicious. The takoyaki they served beats what you can normally get from other Japanese restaurants and fastfoods. The sukiyaki was magnificent. The ambiance inside was very Japanese. I don't know how much we ate because it was a treat by our good friends - Fred, but I'm pretty sure that the price was all worth it. Not to mention that you can also order food from other restaurants inside the Little Tokyo area. Two thumbs up for Little Tokyo.
Pam says:
Alas, I wasn't able to leave the cube this night =(
I was able to score some take-out takoyaki* though and I must admit it trumps the takoyakis sold in food stalls in the mall (You might know which stall I'm talking about.) This takoyaki was huge and actual octopus bits were included, not pieces of meat chopped up into indistinguishable little pieces.
So for some authentic takoyaki, head on over to Little Tokyo!

Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼 ) (literally fried or baked octopus) is a popular Japanese dumplingbatter, diced or whole baby octopus, tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, ponzu, mayonnaise, green laver (aonori), and katsuobushi (fish shavings), first popularized in Taisho-era Osaka.
